MOLD-OUT Standard 7 Step Process !
1.Initial Inspection
Certified technicians thoroughly inspect each facet of the home, carefully
noting any area of concern as it relates to existing mold, water intrusion,
open windows, visible leaks, foundation cracks, sump pump failure, and
excess moisture. In the event existing mold is discovered, a detailed
proposal for remediation including full protocol is submitted for approval.
2. Containment of Affected Area
Set up complete isolation of the work area from occupied spaces using
plastic (6 mil poly) sheeting sealed with duct tape. Ventilation ducts,
vents, returns, and other openings are also sealed off. HEPA air scrubbers
are used to generate negative air pressure to prevent cross contamination
of adjacent areas. These HEPA air scrubbers run throughout the remediation
process to eradicate any airborne mold.
3. Mold Remediation Process
All contaminated materials are treated using Benefect® is the only EPA-registered Botanical Disinfectant. It is proven to kill as well as synthetic disinfectants at over 99.99% of common bacteria, fungi, TB, staph (including MRSA) & HIV, yet it is the ONLY disinfectant without warnings or precautionary statements on the label to worry about! No Personal Protective Equipment is required either, making Benefect disinfectant the safest choice on the market.
Any dark mold staining will be treated with Fiberlock IAQ 2000 is a phosphate-free, quaternary ammonium chloride formulation designed for use in a diverse assortment of buildings, both residential and commercial.
Fiberlock IAQ 2000 is a concentrated formula that will disinfect hard, nonporous inanimate environmental surfaces. Use IAQ 2000 to clean and disinfect mold-contaminated surfaces as part of all mold-remediation projects. Fiberlock IAQ 2000 is an EPA-registered product.
4. Removal of Damaged Material
Any contaminated material that cannot be remediated will be removed and
discarded (drywall, carpeting, padding, cabinetry, etc.). Loose material
(insulation, dirt, debris, etc) is removed in sealed plastic bags and
discarded.
5. Detailed HEPA Vacuum
Entire worksite is swept free of debris and HEPA vacuumed. Meticulous
HEPA vacuuming is essential to the proper application of Fiberlock IAQ 2000 . Mold-Out's technicians are trained to
search for areas where debris and other minor particles would otherwise go
unnoticed. The use of HEPA vacuums minimizes the transference of collected
particles. Special attention is given to all exterior wall cavities under
any opening where water intrusion could occur.
6. Applying Fungicidal Protective Coating
Foster 40-20 Fungicidal Protective Coating , EPA registered anti-microbial is
applied to all affected areas. Foster 40-20 Fungicidal Protective Coating is the industry's leading EPA registered, antimicrobial coating for HVAC duct systems with ten years of proven effectiveness. It is formulated to effectively prevent the spread of mold and odor causing bacteria on its surface in areas, such as walls, ceilings, pipes and interior/exterior surfaces of HVAC duct systems. This product is a polyacrylate copolymer emulsion specifically formulated for long-term fungicidal activity, with no loss of activity on aging. Its tough, elastic, decorative finish is resistant to most industrial chemicals and it is ultra-flexible to allow for movement without splitting, which prevents lodging places for bacteria - making it ideal in industrial and institutional settings.
7. Final Inspection
A thorough post remediation inspection is conducted to ensure quality .
